Union Was “Founded in 2001”
We are a significant labor union in Uganda, registered under the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development (Labour Union No. 23). Its primary mandate is to advocate for, protect, and promote the rights of market workers, including their social, economic, and occupational safety and health rights. The union also works to defend the freedoms enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, particularly Articles 29 and 40 (Clause 3), as well as those outlined in the ILO Convention 204, through collective bargaining.
